About Bachelor of Science - Kinesiology

What intricacies does the human body hold? How do bodies move and what are the most effective methods to optimize human body performance? Those that are intrigued by sports science and wellness should consider a degree in kinesiology. The program provides an innovative academic experience focused on real-world clinical applications for full professional preparation. Be a body in motion.

The kinesiology program offers two academic paths to either gain expertise in health and sports science or pursue a career in physical education: the health and human performance concentration and the physical education teacher education program. Certification opportunities in yoga instruction and strength and conditioning are also available.

Health and Human Performance
The Health and Human Performance concentration prepares students for careers and graduate education in allied health and human performance disciplines. Grounded in a foundation of kinesiology, this concentration allows for flexibility in designing a program of study to meet individual learning and career goals. Ideal for students interested in allied health fields (PT, OT, PA), medical and nursing school, and sport sciences (strength and conditioning, personal training).

Physical Education Teacher Education
The Physical Education Teacher Education concentration prepares students to teach physical education in the State of California public school system. Upon completion of the degree, PETE graduates are eligible to begin the Teacher Education program leading towards the Single Subject Teaching Credential in Physical Education.
