About Master of Law - Law - Criminal Justice

Kent Law School, at the University of Kent, is a leading UK law school with recognised excellence in teaching and legal research. The distinctive critical approach views the law within the broader social, political and economic contexts in which it operates. Students study full-time or part-time and can begin their studies in September or January, so they can set their own pace for their learning and career.

Students will join a dynamic, diverse, and intellectually stimulating environment, working closely with supportive academic staff. They will engage with critical research-led teaching throughout the programmes to ensure that they benefit from the Law School’s world-class research at the forefronts of developments in Law.

Kent's innovative Master’s in Law degree has an international and contemporary focus. It offers an open choice of modules and pathway enabling students to tailor their LLM study to suit their needs and interests. Students' specialism is left open until they arrive and is determined by the modules they choose. This way, students' degree accurately reflects their ambitions and interests - making them ready to kickstart their legal career in whatever field they want to make their mark in.

Students can develop in-depth expertise by studying one or two specialised subject pathways or study for a general Kent LLM with no specialist pathway.

Specialist pathways include:
  • Law (Human Rights Law) LLM, PDip
  • Law (Intellectual Property Law) LLM, PDip
  • Law (International Commercial Law) LLM, PDip
  • Law (International Environmental Law) LLM, PDip
  • Law (International Law) LLM, PDip
  • Law (International Law with International Relations) LLM, PDip
  • Law (Law and Health) LLM, PDip
  • Law (Law and Society) LLM, PDip
