About Master of Arts - Peace and Conflict Studies - International Joint Award

In the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021, 100% of Kent's Politics and international studies research was classified as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ for environment. Students receive high-quality teaching with cutting-edge research in a supportive environment. Students will get the opportunity to live and study in the UK and Germany. Students will also benefit from being taught by world leading experts at the cutting edge of research, actively engaged in advising government and shaping debates. They will be part of  vibrant, diverse and international student community, bringing different perspectives into dialogue and facilitating a global network of close connections.

Students will gain the fundamental skills of analysis, interpretation and prediction, combined with the flexibility to follow their interest through a broad range of optional modules. The University of Kent has a high-profile engagement through the Global Europe Centre and the Conflict Analysis Research Centre, which crystallise their research, policy and practitioner networks into an annual schedule of events.

Students will take a unique course where they will study in Canterbury, England one year and Marburg, Germany the other. With the opportunity to specialise in middle eastern politics and society, governance and war in cyberspace, the European Union, and terrorism and crimes of the state.
