Program Description
Computer Science and Engineering is UHart's newest major within the department that helps students open up their career options by studying both computer science (software) and computer engineering (hardware). Students take exciting classes in programming, coding, design and analysis, computation, and electrical engineering.
Students are introduced to the field of electronic engineering so you learn about digital circuit design and micro-controllers, all while understanding how the entire computer works. There are two tracks to choose from:
Systems and Networks allows students to focus on computer software and its design and development
Software Design and Development allows students to focus on computer hardware and computer networks
No matter which track students choose, UHart's expert faculty support them with one-on-one instruction and academic advising.
International Pathway Program
Students should be advised that this is the Extended Plus 4-Semester Pathway option for this program. This pathway includes one or more semesters of Pre-Sessional English (dependent upon student proficiency level and progression in English courses) plus 3 semesters of Extended International Pathway.
The International Pathway Program (IPP) is open to students who need to strengthen their English skills before studying a degree program in the USA. The IPP offers undergraduate students the additional support needed for their first year of university study. Students’ academic, social and personal success are ensured while in the program as they prepare to continue on to their degree.
Each semester students will take a combination of Hartford academic courses (credited) and English courses (non-credit). Course options are dependent upon the required pathway. Once students have reached the required English level, they can progress to their program at the University of Hartford.
