Extended International Pathway Program (IPP) - 3-Semester Pathway + Bachelor of Music - Music Production and Technology

About Extended International Pathway Program (IPP) - 3-Semester Pathway + Bachelor of Music - Music Production and Technology
Program Description
Music Production & Technology (MPT) at Hartt trains musicians to become music production professionals (i.e. recording, mixing, and mastering engineers). Musicianship training has played an essential role for many, if not most, successful producers. Through study in music, electronics and acoustics, you will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to work in the professional audio industry. It is the goal of the MPT department to train musicians to be producers of quality music products (thus the audition requirement and core music curriculum).
Students in the Music Production and Technology program are trained to view the studio as an instrument through which they will create music, both their own and the collaborative product of working with other artists. Reaching that level means dedication to learning and practicing the craft.
The Hartt Recording Studio (HRS) is an outlet for students to develop their technique and gain more experience within the studio environment. Providing recording services to any Hartt student, staff, or faculty member, as well as outside clients, the studio is staffed by music production and technology majors. Students are encouraged from the time you enter The Hartt School to be an actively involved participant in the production studio.
International Pathway Program
Students should be advised that this is the Extended 3-Semester Pathway option for this program.
The International Pathway Program (IPP) is open to students who need to strengthen their English skills before studying a degree program in the USA. The IPP offers undergraduate students the additional support needed for their first year of university study. Students’ academic, social and personal success are ensured while in the program as they prepare to continue on to their degree.
Each semester students will take a combination of Hartford academic courses (credited) and English courses (non-credit). Course options are dependent upon the required pathway. Once students have reached the required English level, they can progress to their program at the University of Hartford.
