Program Description
In the Bachelor of Science - Food Science major, students will explore the processing and product development of safe and healthy foods, and fill the gap between the production of farm goods and the year round delivery of food products to the global consumer. Through coursework in a number of different areas, including chemistry, processing, microbiology, quality assurance and sensory evaluation, students will apply their knowledge developed to the understanding of the entire process of food science from development of a food product from idea generation right through to product marketing.

A principal aim of the Co-op program in Food Science is to facilitate the transition of students from academic studies to a professional career by enhancing the integration of theory and practice.
