Program Description
The Engineering Systems and Computing program allows students to explore a unique mix of software development, computing hardware design, fluid mechanics and thermodynamics, control and modelling. In third and fourth year, specialize in one or more streams: mechatronics, robotics, embedded systems, biomedical, or computing, then pursue a career to match. Graduates from this program will have, in addition to the basic engineering skills, the ability to identify application areas where computer technology represents the optimum solution, specify appropriate software for process control, data reduction and/or expert system implementation and integrate the computer into the overall system application.
Sample Careers:
- Software developer
- Autonomous test engineer
- Robotics and automation engineer
- Systems engineer
- Mechatronics engineer
A principal aim of the Co-op program in Engineering Systems and Computing is to facilitate the transition of students from academic studies to a professional career by enhancing the integration of theory and practice.
