About Integrated Masters - Master of Engineering (MEng) - Electrical and Electronic Engineering (H603)
With Electrical and Electronic Engineering, MEng degree, students will complete three years’ study at Bachelor’s level plus a final year leading to a Master’s qualification. The course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology on behalf of the Engineering Council.
This integrated Master's degree in electrical and electronic engineering covers core topics such as electrical circuits, control and instrumentation, electromagnetic waves, and the design of communication networks.
Students will also explore pioneering approaches in this field and discover how they can apply these to real-world problems. The final year of study includes a Master's-level engineering project to help develop their teamwork and leadership skills. They can also gain experience from the University's close industrial ties with companies such as BAE Systems, South Eastern Railways and Ford.
Learners go to a range of companies and organizations of varying sizes for their placements, including large multi-national firms, government agencies, the NHS and small to medium sized companies engaged in research, analytical services and manufacturing. Previous students have worked in: Eon, Dyson, ADEY, PS Analytical and E-liquids, GSK, NHS hospitals.
The Electrical and Electronic Engineering, MEng graduates could work in a wide range of electrical and electronics applications, from telecommunications to control or electrical power to emerging technologies, finding roles across a wide range of organizations. Students can also start their own business or pursue postgraduate study.
