The PhD in Applied Psychology offers students a unique opportunity to undertake research in an applied psychological context.

Given the variety of applications of psychological research the contexts within which students' research could be conducted include:

Students will be offered opportunities to access University of Essex Masters level research methods modules to provide a sound foundation of specific research knowledge and skills. In addition, they will have access to the University's Proficio research training scheme which allows them to choose training programmes that meet the requirements of their own research topics and methodologies.
