Master of Science - Data Science for Environmental Science

University of East Anglia's cutting-edge MSc in Data Science for Environmental Science is designed to prepare students to become highly qualified data scientists. This one-year Master’s course will equip students with proficiency in analysing environmental data, a skill applicable to a wide range of careers in both the public and private sectors, as well as in research. 

Students will receive an excellent grounding in practical and theoretical aspects of data mining, Python, and statistics, with the opportunity to tailor their degree through modules in quantitative environmental sciences and modelling. Additionally, students also have the flexibility to choose the focus of their dissertation. 

At UEA, students will be part of the School of Environmental Sciences, which has made significant global contributions over the past 50 years and has been honoured with the Queen's Award. This large, internationally recognised school is known for its holistic, interdisciplinary, and solution-oriented research aimed at addressing the environmental challenges of the 21st century and securing a sustainable future. In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework, it ranked 4th overall for research quality in Earth Systems and Environmental Sciences in the UK, with 94% of its research assessed as world-leading or excellent.
