Integrated Masters - Master of Arts (Honours) - History and Psychology

Combining history and psychology studies gives students a wide range of modules to choose from.

Students will use primary sources from the very beginning of your studies, and analyze various kinds of historical evidence, including written and oral materials, maps, visual images, feature films, art, and music.

Students will consider how the use of sources and media representations inform our reconstructions of the past. They will reflect critically on key debates in history, looking at how they have developed over time, and how they have shaped our understanding of the world. Students will also learn how historians 'make' history, and evaluate their roles in today's public life, media and the heritage industry.

Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behaviour. Topics Dundee covers include how babies learn, the way in which people's mental skills change as they grow older, personalities types, and social group dynamics. Students will also study different psychological disorders.

Students will also learn how to think critically and to solve problems. Dundee will teach students to analyze data, write clearly and effectively, and be a confident communicator of science. They will learn how to plan, implement, and analyze their own research project.
