Program Description

• Integrated and cohorted courses, so you’ll be in some classes with U.S. students and others with your designated UDayton Global cohort.

In our history program, you will focus on the events and developments of the past as well as explore the manner in which historians gather evidence and reach conclusions.

Our flexible liberal arts curriculum allows you to personalize your education by selecting a second major or one or more minors. In order to meet your personal and professional goals, you may concentrate your studies in areas such as business, international affairs, Pre-Law, or historical administration, preservation and archival management. A variety of courses, in addition to course work in new fields such as business history, legal history and science history, prepare you for careers in our fast-paced world.

In order to prepare you for work in our global society, you will also complete a language requirement. You may satisfy the requirement by taking a proficiency examination, completing an intermediate-level language course or participating in an approved education abroad experience.

Want to share your interest in history with others? You can acquire teacher licensure through the E-11 program. This program, established by the School of Education and Health Sciences for students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences, leads to a Bachelor of Arts with a major in history and Ohio licensure to teach in grades seven through 12.
