This course is designed to give students the professional and academic qualifications they need to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and excel as a practicing nurse.
This degree will enable students to hit the ground running to work as an adult nurse in a variety of settings including hospitals, GP surgeries, hospices, nursing homes, the armed forces and many more.
Students will divide their time between academic study and practice-based placements. Working with highly experienced professionals, students will support people accessing health and social care to boost their skills and confidence. Placements are available across the sector, including inpatient, community, private and voluntary sector provision. Additionally, there will be the opportunity for students to arrange an enrichment placement that could involve national or international work.
The academic staff will share their extensive professional expertise to develop students' knowledge and understanding of nursing practice. Students will develop their independent thinking and problem-solving skills. Learning will include the use of clinical labs, mock hospital wards, guest speakers, workshops and simulations. All of which will be supported by a wide variety of online learning opportunities, including an innovative virtual learning environment.
