Geographers explore the global challenges that face both humanity and the planet in the 21st century. Based in the Ambleside campus in the heart of the Lake District, students will embrace the mix of natural and social science and humanities that create the diversity and exuberance. The program will explore the differences and dynamics between culture, political systems, economies and landscapes; but students will also evaluate these as contested spaces that can be viewed through multiple lenses.
The University of Cumbria's location allows the university to embed high-quality fields, laboratory, geo-spatial and archive work. Residential field-courses at every level take students beyond the Lake District and UK placing their learning in a global context. They will become an effective practitioner with a unique intellectual curiosity and the ability to observe and critically reflect on the world around them.
