Program Description
University of Chester brings marketing to life with inspiring, real-world experiences. On this degree course, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, students can develop into an outstanding business professional.
University of Chester's business campus is both state of the art and welcoming. This is a special and unique place that will enable students to flourish and grow from undergraduate student to confident business and marketing professional.
Throughout the degree course, students will be mentored and supported by a Personal Tutor. These are the people who will support students through life’s challenges. Students will also benefit from the Student Experience Representatives (SERs), who make sure that the students' voice are heard.
It’s a dynamic, competitive world for marketers today. The University of Chester will equip students with much more than marketing knowledge. Future employers are seeking skills that The University of Chester will develop with students. This means students leave the University of Chester with many valuable experiences giving them an edge at interview and in the workplace.
The transformation from new student to future marketing professional will begin from day one. In the first year, students will gain an understanding of marketing in a real-life context along with essential digital marketing skills. Students will also develop management awareness in areas such as finance, people and organisations.
In year two, students will use this marketing knowledge to make key decisions and consider the different ways businesses operate around the world. Students will start to shape their career path by choosing an aspect of marketing and a five week work placement that suits their personal interests and ambitions.
The final year is even more tailored towards giving students the competitive edge they need to enter the area of marketing they want. Students will carry out an original supervised research project into a subject they select and complete a module designed to maximise their individual professional success. Everything students study will be anchored to today’s business world. Students will be looking at small local businesses right through to the leading brands, as well as up-coming trends in key marketing areas such customer behaviour and digital communications.
