Master of Science - Nutrition and Dietetics 

The professional two-year postgraduate degree course in Nutrition and Dietetics provides students with the eligibility to register as dietitians with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and enter the workforce as registered Allied Health Professionals. Whether graduates choose to work in the NHS, private healthcare, public health, the food and drink industry, sports nutrition, or as freelance dietitians in the media, the course enables them to use the protected title ‘Dietitian’. It is also accredited by the British Dietetic Association (BDA), the professional body for dietitians.

The course team actively engages with local dietetic departments to deliver a programme rooted in evidence-based practice and professional development, supporting students in both academic study and clinical practice. The department enjoys a strong reputation for world-leading research, and teaching staff bring extensive expertise in various areas of nutrition. A significant component of the course involves clinical placements in healthcare settings. The university has developed longstanding, collaborative relationships with healthcare providers across Cheshire and Merseyside, ensuring students are well-placed to gain the experience necessary to become registered professionals.

Prospective students are strongly encouraged to attend a Dietetics Awareness Event, either hosted by the university or a local partnership NHS Trust. These events offer valuable insight into the profession and help enhance applicants' understanding of the role of a dietitian.
