About Bachelor of Arts(Honours) - History and Politics
Studying the human past helps students gain a better understanding of why the world is as it is and a greater appreciation of your place in it. Studying History helps students to acquire the skills that employers value, such as critical thinking, teamwork, communication skills, information handling and original thinking.
Work as a historian and produce material for public consumption. During the second year of the degree, the students have worked directly with history and heritage organisations – ranging from BBC History Magazine to the National Trust – to produce walking tours, historic pamphlets, digital apps and public exhibitions.
Develop skills that set one up for a future career. The dissertation students work with original material from local, national and international archives to produce outstanding research projects. The school's partnerships extend to other third-party sectors to give students experience of heritage and education, thereby setting up students for future MA, PGCE or graduate scheme pathways.
