Program Description
A combination of forensic aspects with a thorough grounding in the traditional science of biology, in particular the molecular biology techniques and DNA profiling. The techniques learnt are transferable to other biological disciplines and provide a solid foundation for anyone wanting to study further.Teaching is delivered by an experienced and committed team of lecturers, supported by practising experts from many forensic disciplines. Emphasis is placed on the development of key generic skills, equipping students with the necessary theoretical basis and practical experience to enter many areas of employment in both forensic and biological sciences.
Archaeology is the study of the human past, from the hunter-gatherers of Ice Age Europe to the inhabitants of early modern cities. Students at Chester will discover what life was like for these past societies, and learn the techniques and approaches that we use to study them. In doing so they will develop a suite of new specific and transferrable skills that will provide the foundation for their future, whatever career they wish to pursue.
