Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Drama and Psychology

Program Description

At the University of Chester, they encourage students to engage with a wide range of approaches to making theatre and performance.  This includes looking at traditional forms of theatre, while also engaging with alternative forms of making performance such as devising.  There's actor training to do with straight acting, comedy and physical theatre.  Students also develop projects to do with making drama in educational and community settings, as well as developing projects in musical theatre and theatre for young audiences.  And there are also opportunities to develop skills in areas of technical theatre, such as lighting and sound design.  

Many Psychology departments offer Single Honours degrees accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). However, Chester is unusual in that it also offers accredited Combined Honours degrees for students who major in Psychology and take the required modules. If students are not thinking of a career as a professional Psychologist then they can personalise their studies by choosing from across the range of  modules in their second and third years.
