Program Description
Ecology is concerned with the relationships between organisms and their past, present, and future environments. These relationships include physiological responses of individuals, structure and dynamics of populations, interactions among species, organization of biological communities, and processing of energy and matter in ecosystems.
As an Ecology and Evolutionary Biology major at the University of Central Missouri, the Program's mission is to guide students to become scientists with the knowledge needed to support the assessment, maintenance, and recovery of environmental resources. The curriculum provides students with the scientific basis for the conservation and management of our native plants and animals, and attempts to address the sustainable management of natural resources and the world-wide loss of biodiversity.
