Program Description
The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from the University of Central Missouri will help students develop the creative talents and technical skills they need to become graphic designers. Since 1986, the Department of Art and Design at UCM has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). Since UCM is the only state-supported, four-year school in Missouri with NASAD accreditation, students will earn a graphic design degree that is respected and recognized in the industry.
Students will gain hands-on experience through studio courses and access to a 24-hour lab that features state-of-the-art equipment, hardware and software. They'll learn the theoretical and practical aspects of graphic design from highly experienced faculty members. These dedicated educators will help students master creative problem-solving skills, gain conceptual and aesthetic judgment and use technology as a design tool. Students' graphic design degree will prepare them for careers, including advertising agency art director to a variety of graphic designer positions.
