Program Description
When students choose Modern Languages as their major at the University of Central Missouri, they also may choose one of three pre-professional concentrations. Not only will language courses give students a unique skill set, they also will set their resume apart in the job market by demonstrating great discipline, flexibility in learning and critical thinking, and the ability to interact with a variety of backgrounds.
- Criminal Justice concentration - Here, students will learn about the criminal court system and justice system, and they'll complete an internship in criminal justice, allowing them to use your language skills in a real-life setting. This concentration prepares students for careers in law enforcement and social services, among others.
- Marketing concentration - Here, students will develop language proficiency while they learn about consumer behavior, the principles of advertising and management, and economics. This concentration will prepare students for a range of careers in business and marketing.
- Public Relations concentration - Here, students will develop language proficiency while they learn the foundations of public relations, communication methods, and the principles of international development. This concentration will prepare them for a number of careers in business and public relations.
