About Bachelor of Science - Bioinformatics - Computing and Statistics
Bioinformatics bridges the gap between studies in biology and data. Whether students want to unpack findings from genomic studies or pinpoint population data for disease control, students will go above and beyond researching biology. Students will develop the technical skills to produce, collect, analyze and visualize big sets of biological data.
UCM’s Bioinformatics program curriculum will equip students with deep expertise in biology and chemistry. As a Bioinformatics major in the Computing and Statistics option, students will start with core courses in computer programming, biomedical informatics and genetics, followed by specialized courses such as:
- Probability and Statistics
- Regression Analysis
- Data Structures
- Algorithm Design
- Database Theory
- Big Data Analytics
