About Master of Science - Dietetics (Pre-registration)

The MSc (Pre-Registration) Dietetics programme prepares students for a fulfilling career as a dietitian across a range of health and nutrition settings, including the NHS.

This course aims to develop leaders in contemporary dietetic practice. Academic and clinical practice learning is integrated in a stepped way, preparing students for the workplace through clinical cases and placement learning. Successful completion of the dietetics degree entitles students to apply for Health and Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a Dietitian.

Students will learn practical skills through work-based placements with North West healthcare partners and simulations within purpose-built assessment facilities. This programme uses real-world case studies, which will equip students with the clinical and professional skills they need for the workplace.

Students will be taught by HCPC registered dietitians with a wide range of experience in clinical practice and research, alongside other nutrition and health professionals. Student learning is closely linked with other Allied Health Professions (AHP) and Nutrition courses and linked to the programme's research team Allied Health.

This award is approved by the Health & Care Professions Council and accredited by the British Dietetic Association. Individuals are eligible to apply for registration with the HCPC as a registered Dietitian and to apply for full membership with the British Dietetic Association.
