About 3-Term (Extended) Undergraduate Foundation Program - Life Sciences - Continue to - Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Forensic Science
The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Life Science program is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.
The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.
There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences.
The course is built around three core topics of forensics – investigation, biology and chemistry – with a range of options to help the students steer their studies toward your strengths and interests. The students learn the theory and practice of forensic investigation, crime scene processing and laboratory-based analysis.
With our own crime scene houses and professional-standard labs, the students will develop workplace-ready skills. So, by the time they graduate, they should have everything they need to pursue a future as a forensic scientist.
