2-Term Undergraduate Foundation Program - Life Sciences - Continue to - Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Nursing with Registered Nurse (Adult)

The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Life Science program is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and  Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences.

Promoting good health and educating people to care for themselves, and others, is a key focus for adult nurses. Whether the patients are in hospital, care homes or being nursed at home. Registered Nurses provide professional care for patients in many settings and experiences throughout the course will prepare the students for registration. During the course, the students will work with a range of adults. Some will have physical problems, while others will have mental health problems that call for excellent listening skills as well as your clinical knowledge.
