About 2-Term Undergraduate Foundation Program - Business, Economics, Finance and Management - Continue to - Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - International Hospitality Management

The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Business, Economics, Finance and Management is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and  Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences.

The students will develop their supervisory and managerial skills so that they are able to thrive in the industry, whether they aspire to work in hotels, resorts, conferences, restaurants or bars based in the UK or all over the world and will also look at current trends in hospitality, corporate hospitality and related business events. In the early stages of this course, they will explore the hospitality industry and its development from an international perspective. This will include customer service, food and beverage operations, human resource skills and marketing and will learn how to take an analytical approach to talent management, applied research and service quality.
