Master of Science - Computer Science - Bioinformatics (Non-Thesis)

Bioinformatics combines computer science, biology and statistics to analyze and interpret biological data and understand the complexity of living organisms. In this concentration, students will learn how to develop algorithms and software tools for analyzing biological data and gain the skills needed to pursue a career in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals or academia.

The Bioinformatics emphasis also includes projects focusing on protein sequence analysis, data gathering and preparation, health condition, and disease prediction and health data analysis. After completing the program, students will be prepared to work in a wide variety of bioinformatics and computer science careers, including Bioinformatics Scientist, Bioinformatics Engineer, Health Care Software Developer and Health Care Data Analyst.
