Exceptional education
Troy University’s music industry degree is designed to provide students with a solid foundation of time-tested business practices and changing technology trends combined with in-depth musical study. All their classes are taught by highly skilled faculty within the John M. Long School of Music who are world-class teachers, scholars, conductors, composers and performers.
Diversity of classes
Throughout student's music industry classes at Troy University, they will receive instruction in areas including songwriting, recording studios, music technologies, studio repair, marketing of recorded music, arts management and concert producing. Within their courses, they will learn more about diverse musical traditions from around the globe and gain an understanding of the practices and inter-relationships within the music industry including the areas of retail, recording, distribution, legal aspects, publishing media and employment. They will also study computer-based applications currently used in the music industry for audio production including MIDI sequencing, multi-track recording, audio editing and music notation.
Within their courses, students will also have exciting opportunities such to develop, stage and present music concert productions in a variety of performance environments. These events will give them a real-world understanding of artist management, production and equip them with the knowledge of how to develop a show, manage a venue, market an event and manage a show’s booking and touring.

In TROY’s music industry program, students are provided with real-world, educational experiences designed to prepare them for a professional career in music. By playing a part in concerts, festivals and recording studio sessions, students can produce a diverse portfolio to help them impress future employers as they prepare to enter the industry.
