Bachelor of Arts - Music - Education

The Music Department cultivates a vibrant artistic community through holistic educational experiences and engaging performances. courses in history, theory, and applied study guide students' musical and intellectual development, while performance ensembles focus on high-quality experiential learning and civic engagement rooted in the College's Benedictine values. A music degree combines a liberal arts education with core musicianship, often through a double major or additional minors, to emphasize the importance of making music relevant to society. 

Students develop adaptable and transferable skills that can lead to both educational settings and other creative, entrepreneurial opportunities.  The Music Secondary Education concentration provides the opportunity for students to focus on either Instrumental/Classroom Music or Vocal/Classroom Music and graduates will be eligible for K-12 teaching licensure.
