History students love to pull at a thread to see what unravels, and explore the depths of a topic instead of just scratching the surface. Studying history at St. Scholastica will allow students to pursue that deep knowledge of the past and discover how it informs the present.
Students will work closely with expert faculty members as they move through a global curriculum that covers a wide range of time periods, geographic regions and topics. They will also develop critical thinking, writing, research and analytical skills that will position them for success in whatever career they pursue.
While some history majors become professional historians, students will have the option to choose from a vast range of careers including education, law, politics, publishing, business and public policy. Graduates will emerge from this program with a broader historical perspective on world affairs and a new ability to analyze current issues.
