St. Scholastica Art is committed to developing artists and scholars who are compassionate global citizens, and whose imagination and creativity lead the way to an environmentally and socially responsible future. The core of this course centers on art foundations and research, grounded in Benedictine values and rooted in the process of inquiry and creative expression.
The college offer five concentrations for students to choose from, they include: painting/drawing, photography, film/new media, design and studio art. Many of the professors will include internationally exhibited and published visual artists, who have practical experience in their concentration and know how to help students develop their own unique voice as an artist. The program also includes a class specifically designed to help students succeed in an art-based career to help prepare students for whatever field they choose.
St. Scholastica Alumni have gone on to pursue graduate studies as well as work in design, art direction, architecture, education, art therapy, the fine arts and other fields.
