About Master of Science by Research - Global Migration
The Master of Science by Research in Global Migration allows students to undertake a year long individual program of personally and professionally enriching research. The global migration research project will be shaped by participation in activities such as seminars, workshops, laboratory activity and field work, as well as students' involvement in one of Swansea's established research groups.
The range of Swansea's current human geographical research in this area includes
- Multi-sensuous geographies of movement and the ways they are governed;
- The diversity of mobile experiences (labour migrations, cultural mobility, spiritual mobilities) and the divisions they produce;
- Mobile subjectivities, socialities and politics of mobility;
- Inequalities and power dynamics of different mobilities and migrations.
- Rethinking care for marginalised people: different ways of com-passionate being together with mobile others;
- Developing broader (excessive) understanding of ethical responsibility for people in need
