Psychology is the scientific study of all aspects of human behavior and mental processes. The major provides a general background in basic processes (learning and memory), cognitive processes, social psychology, developmental psychology, clinical/personality psychology and statistics, and research design.
As psychology majors, students will be prepared for careers in health, politics, medicine, business, government, and more. Students will get there because of opportunities to:
- Work closely with knowledgeable faculty in small classes.
- Start with courses in career planning and development to determine the desired career and necessary education.
- Participate and develop psychological research.
- Gain professional research experience through Southeast’s annual Student Research Conference and through internship experiences.
