In Seneca’s Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing degree program, students will follow a curriculum that provides a diverse and global perspective to prepare them to be one of the health-care leaders of tomorrow with a BScN credential. The curriculum has been designed to meet the entry to practice competencies defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and provide a solid base for further study at the graduate level.
This program includes extensive experiential learning that will provide the foundation for the development of nursing knowledge, ethical decision-making, leadership skills and the pursuit of excellence in nursing practice and optimal health outcomes. Students will also develop transferable skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and effective verbal and written communication. These skills, along with the strong foundation in nursing, open the doors to many potential employment opportunities, both locally and abroad.
Students will also have the opportunity to provide nursing care within a variety of clinical settings. Clinical education is enhanced with focused simulation, which will provide students the ability to practice and refine their clinical reasoning skills.
