Students who want this 3+3 select academic program, they can earn a Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor by completing all required credits for their degree program at Sacred Heart University within 3 years. The balance of their undergraduate credits will be completed during their first year of law school at Seton Hall University.
Develop an understanding of the theoretical perspectives and contributions of the schools of thought in psychology, and apply critical thinking as students analyze psychological theories and scientific research.
As a Psychology major, students will explore a variety of electives based on students interests, including psychological counseling, abnormal psychology, drugs and behavior, psychology of women, sports psychology, and more.
In the psychology program, Students will also:
- Identify, synthesize, and critique information for scientific research
- Conduct all stages of scientific research in projects conducted by faculty members, the results of which are often published in professional journals
- Have the opportunity to present research results at local, regional, and national conferences
- Understand and demonstrate ethical principles in psychology
- Have the chance to study abroad during the fall of their sophomore year at the Scared Heart university in Dingle campus in Ireland
- Complete a semester-long internship in a setting that fits their career goals
- Gain real-world experience through the community service component of several courses
- Have the option to join the Psychology Club and Psi Chi, the international honor society for psychology majors
