Bachelor of Environmental Science + Bachelor of Business - Management (BP161ESDD6) (043570K):
The environment faces threats and challenges that include climate change, habitat loss, overpopulation, emerging contaminant and pollution events, and food and water security. The breadth of these environmental challenges requires a combination of knowledge and skills in chemistry, biology, statistics, research, and earth sciences for an interdisciplinary approach to surmounting these difficulties.
Students will learn about the biogeochemical processes that occur in both natural and degraded environments and specialize with a minor in either environmental chemistry or environmental biology.
Students can also choose to minor in geoscience (environmental engineering) or geospatial science, or gain a breadth of knowledge across all the minors, depending on their preferred career pathway.
Over the course of studies, students will undertake both practical and industry-relevant activities, gaining:
- considerable hands-on experience with equipment, both in the laboratory and in the field
- frequent field trips during second and third year
- working on collaborative projects with industry
The Bachelor of Business (Management) provides students with knowledge and skills across a range of management theories and practices, and the ability to evaluate and apply these in dealing with complex issues in managing and leading organizations, particularly those related to organizational analysis, business ethics and social responsibility, leadership and decision making and strategic management.
On successful completion of this program students will be able to:
- Apply broad theoretical and technical knowledge of business practice in diverse contexts.
- Integrate specialist theoretical knowledge with technical skills to provide in-depth professional advice related to the management, financial, marketing, human resource and ethical aspects of contemporary organizations.
