Bachelor of Engineering - Sustainable Systems Engineering (Honours) + Bachelor of Industrial Design (Honours) (BH100SSHDD) (079789E): Students will learn systems approaches to the design of sustainable technologies and engineering systems for global development in the sustainable systems engineering component of this degree. They will also learn to protect, restore and create engineered and natural systems that are socially, environmentally and economically sustainable.
Industrial design offers technical, theoretical, and applied design opportunities. A focus of students' studies in this area is on developing innovative, original and ethical designers.
Students will have the opportunity to design creative, sustainable solutions through inspiring design-and-build projects and take part in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge - a humanitarian-focused course offered in all Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology engineering degrees.
Students' final-year project will combine and develop the skills and knowledge they need to commence their professional engineering or design career. The project will provide an opportunity to integrate engineering and industrial design capabilities.
Through preceding years of the degree, design studios provide research and design project experiences in which real-world projects are undertaken within industry and community organizations on issues of significance.
Please note that applicants from some countries will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee. The fee will go towards the tuition deposit for any students who enroll.
