About College Certificate - ASL and Deaf Studies

This program is designed to increase student fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and help them to gain knowledge of Deaf culture and Deaf history so that they can effectively interact with Deaf individuals. Deaf persons can benefit from this program by learning more about their own language, culture, and history.

Improvements to the program include:

  • Manageable term course loads for students;
  • Exclusive student attendance at Red River College Polytechnic;
  • Inclusion of introductory ASL learning - no prerequisite courses required;
  • "Bring Your Own Laptop" will allow students to access learning on demand.
