About Bachelor of Science - Chemistry - Materials Science
Materials science combines various disciplines to create new materials. As a chemistry student, students will learn about the structure and composition of materials, as well as the processes to synthesize and use them.
As a materials scientist, students will combine an in-depth knowledge of chemistry with the engineering expertise that made the Purdue system famous. The program provides a strong background in chemistry with a focus in polymers, catalysis and materials engineering. They will graduate well prepared for cutting-edge jobs creating 21st-century materials.
Students study of the structure and interactions of basic molecules that form all matter. Students learn about the basic molecules that form the earth, living creatures, and man-made products, with an emphasis on polymers and materials science.
