Master of Science - Forensic Science

The MS in Forensic Science prepares students for a career in one of the fastest growing fields in the country. The program’s science-based curriculum provides the education and professional experience students will need to play a pivotal role in today’s criminal justice system and for a successful future in forensic science.

Pace offers fully equipped facilities for forensic chemistry and biology, including a new state-of-the-art DNA sequencing lab and specialized laboratories with virtual crime scene reconstruction software and forensic microscopy. What makes the program truly unique is that the faculty members maintain full-time affiliations with the major forensic laboratories of local and federal law enforcement agencies. Pace provides students with connections to numerous employment opportunities in labs with the New York Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the New York City medical examiner’s office.

The program offers students the opportunity to participate in internships with investigative teams in New York City at major-area crime labs, and upon completing program requirements, students will be able to begin actively working in a forensic laboratory or consider applying for admission into medical or dental schools or advanced graduate studies in forensic science, biology, or chemistry. Students can do research in drug analysis, arson accelerant detection, genetic sequencing, and proteomics.
