Students will impact the lives of individuals, health of families and welfare of communities every day by developing broad expertise to teach critical life skills needed in relationships, parenting, lifespan development, personal finance management, nutrition, interior design, work and family balance and more.
Oklahoma State University offers the only family and consumer sciences education degree program in Oklahoma. Students will participate in multiple field experiences and a student teaching internship. Upon degree completion, graduates are recommended to the Oklahoma State Department of Education for full teacher certification and are prepared to take certification exams in other states, if applicable. The high-quality reputation of this program makes graduates highly sought after for teaching and Cooperative Extension positions in Oklahoma and beyond.
