Bachelor of Arts - Language Arts Education

Program Description

The language arts education program will turn students into outstanding writers and language arts teachers. They’ll take liberal arts and literature courses alongside education courses and spend time observing and teaching in local classrooms. They’ll learn about child and adolescent development, curriculum, methods of teaching, and more. They'll have the ability to add on the I/S licensure and TESOL options. They’ll graduate ready to be licensed to teach language arts to seventh- through 12th-graders in Ohio.

At ONU, students join a close-knit family of English-language lovers. From the time they arrive on campus until they graduate, they’ll be guided by the same faculty advisor. Students will enjoy small class sizes and amazing friendships with their fellow language arts education majors. ONU's dedicated professors will get to know them. They will support students in their coursework, creative endeavors, field experiences and career preparations. They will become personally invested in students' success and will open doors for them.
