About Bachelor of Science - Education - Intervention Specialist - Moderate/Intensive Educational Needs
Program Description
ODU's Intervention Specialist program prepares graduates for an Ohio license in Mild/Moderate and/or Moderate/Intensive educational needs in grades K-12.
ODU's Intervention Specialst programs integrate theory, practice and educational technology, while developing teachers who have the knowledge base, professional competency and disposition to be effective special education teachers in grades K-12.
Studies include the general education core requirements and a wide range of professional education courses. In addition, students are provided opportunities to participate in extensive field-based experiences in school settings for children with Mild/Moderate and/or Moderate/Intensive educational needs.
The program models guidelines of the Ohio Department of Education, the Council for Exceptional Children and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
Students may elect to earn one or both Intervention Specialist Licenses.
