About 2-Term Pathway - Foundation Year - Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Biomedical Engineering

Develop a broad knowledge of engineering, mathematics and science skills – everything they will need to succeed when they move on to BEng Biomedical Engineering. Biomedical engineering is a very diverse field which is also developing rapidly. To help the student to become a bioengineer of the future, the school work closely with industry to ensure they are as well-prepared as possible for a career in this exciting and rewarding industry.

If they want to change their direction at the end of their foundation year, that’s OK. The flexibility means that the school can support the students if they want to move on to one of our other engineering courses in their second year.

They'll give them plenty of opportunities to get hands-on while developing skills to find solutions to current and future health issues. Live briefs, challenges from industry and placements all add up to give them a rounded learning experience employers want to see.

Our Biomedical Engineering courses are highly practical and use real examples and projects from industry and medicine. On this course they’ll look at current health issues and develop materials, processes and devices that help prevent or treat disease or rehabilitate patients. Areas of bioengineering covered on this course are biomaterials, bioinstrumentation, biomechanics, medical imaging, rehabilitation, and cellular, tissue, and genetic engineering.
