About Bachelor of Arts - Conflict Transformation Studies

The study of conflict transformation will teach students critical skills to enable them to respond to conflict at many levels in a productive way. Along with studying the history and context of global conflicts, they will enhance their ability to listen, learn to conduct research and analysis, and gain more self-awareness in an effort to pursue creative, nonviolent approaches to help in conflict situations. This area of study will prepare them to work in community organizing, restorative justice, peacebuilding, violence reduction, environmental advocacy, law, criminal justice, psychotherapy, and more.

Conflict Transformation Student Learning Outcomes:
  • Demonstrate understanding of historical and contemporary Criminal Justice knowledge, theories, and ideas.
  • Illustrate systematic approach to evaluating sources of literature and scholarly works.
  • Demonstrate scientific approach to planning, conducting, and reporting on research.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with discipline’s diverse fields, paradigms and topics that include critical analyses of issues relevant to race, ethnicity, gender, privilege, inequality, urban affairs, citizenship, justice, and social problems.
