Bachelor of Arts - Sociology

The sociology department aims to properly prepare each student for whatever path they choose. Some students wish to utilize their skills in the context of law or business, while others go on to graduate school, or pursue careers in research. Others might wish to pursue careers in the nonprofit arena working to better their communities. Whatever the individual interest, faculty and staff in the sociology department will look to develop the skills that are most likely to lead to a student’s success. Sociology is the study of society. Those who study sociology are interested in just about anything that groups of people engage in. By taking sociology courses, they will learn about race, ethnicity, gender, social class, sexuality, deviance, culture, subcultures, work, families, social change and much more. It is a discipline with few limitations.
