If students have previously studied computing at university or are currently working in the sector and are looking to develop an advanced knowledge of the subject, this course is for them.
The program offers modules that combine computer networks theory, management, and security. Students will also have the opportunity to work in a laboratory on security configuration for various systems.
Students will develop the knowledge and expertise to model, monitor, and analyze networks in various situations, simulating performance and availability to configure them for optimum performance. In addition to this, they will also improve their mathematical, problem-solving, communication, and critical skills.
Alongside in-depth knowledge and practical experience of computer communications and networking, the course will provide students with many transferable skills. It will enhance their research capabilities, data collection and interpretation, mathematical skills, communication, problem-solving, presentation abilities, as well as their confidence and capacity to work independently while managing their own time.
Other benefits that students will gain by joining this course include:
- The opportunity to gain practical experience in industry-standard networking labs.
- A chance to explore new concepts and developments; three of the previous students were crowned winners at the Young Professional Engineering Challenge.
- Optional industrial placements are available for full-time students studying at the London campus, with choices of either a 3-month or 12-month placement duration.
