Program Description
During the foundation year, students will learn how computers are used by a broad range of people and organisations as well as acquiring fundamental software development skills and knowledge of hardware. Students also gain relevant mathematical and statistical skills and develop useful communication skills.
When students complete this foundation year successfully, they will progress directly onto any one of the three-year degree courses, BSc Computer Science in this case. The number of students who progress to degree study are very high and in fact have gone on to become some of the most successful graduates.
The basis for a wide range of computer-based careers, computer science studies opens up opportunities across all sectors – from software development to systems engineering and everywhere in between. This Middlesex University course helps students develop the skills, knowledge and experience that will attract employers and help students achieve their computer-based career goals.
Students will gain an understanding of the key principles of computer science while they develop their programming, system engineering, and project experience skills. Students will also get the support, encouragement and confidence to put their skills into practice through individual and group projects. The first year will be entirely project led, ensuring students practice their skills from the very start.
