Program Description
This Middlesex University degree weaves academic learning into the business context internationally. Students will be exposed to applying economics into action by completing a valuable paid placement year in public, private or voluntary organisations. Upon graduation, students will have the necessary skills and experience to develop a career in government departments, banks, risk and insurance sectors, investment and brokerage firms, retail and manufacturing firms, and charities.
This course will give students the solid working knowledge of both theoretical and empirical methods that can be applied to the industry and world context of business economics. They'll gain a strong understanding of individual and firm behaviour under uncertainty as well as price determinism and discrimination. They'll study oligopolistic pricing using games and economic experiments, and will explore world financial markets, regulators and financial instruments.
